What is the preparation for this procedure?

What happens during the procedure?
Once in the procedure room, you will be asked to lie on your left side. After following these instructions you will be given a local anesthesia, through IV. Once the anesthetics take effect the treatment will begin. After the rectum is well lubricated the anoscope, used to hold the anus open, will be inserted into the rectum. After the anoscope is inserted and the hemorrhoids are distinguished, the infrared coagulation will begin.
What happen after the procedure?
